Commercial sex workers in the Eastern regional capital Koforidua  are loggerheads over monies to charge clients who solicit for sexual intercourse.

The feud between the seniors and the Juniors at the brothels have deepened leading to clashes.

Bryt FM,a Koforidua based local Radio station reports that, on Wednesday ,senior prostitutes in one of the brothels descended on their junior colleagues for charging  clients ghc10 bellow the minimum charge of ghc50.

The clashes attracted passers-by who trooped to the place to separate the prostitutes who were engaged in a scuffle.

Price variability by the Commercial sex workers in the capital mostly hinges on occasion at a particular time ,economic condition and location of facility opted by clients for sexual intercourse.

The regional capital is gradually becoming a hub for prostitution as some prostitutes travel from Accra, Kumasi and other parts of the country to engage in the business due to its promising prospects.

Earlier report filed by Kasapa FM Eastern regional Correspondent ,Kojo Ansah ,before the December 7 polls indicated that ,most of the commercial sex workers in the region rooted for the President-elect,  Nana Akufo Addo with a hope that,the economy will be better to provide them decent jobs to take them out of the whore business .

Speaking to Kasapa News Eastern regional correspondent,Kojo Ansah,December 2,2016 at their brothels,most of the commercial sex workers with ages between 18 to 32 admitted that, they were forced into the trade as a result of financial difficulties while few admitted engaging in the business for sexual pleasure.

Two of the Commercial sex workers, both single mothers narrated that, they need money to take care of their children in school hence exchanging sex for money.

Minors were reportedly  among the prostitutes who ply their trade in the regional capital, but the Eastern Regional Child Protection Committee task force has clamped down on child prostitution drastically reducing the menace in the municipality.
