Prostitutes take over Okaishie drug store lane

Information gathered by the Ghana Palaver newspaper indicates that teenage prostitutes and drug peddlers have taken over Okaishie Drug Store Lane, making the area uncomfortable for people who use it to go to their destinations at night.

The most shocking aspect of it is that there are two police barriers that are mounted at the two ends of the street yet the prostitutes and criminals go about their business with impunity.

The 'Ghana Palaver' gathered that commercial sex workers have virtually turned some of the stores at the Okaishie Drug lane into brothels to conduct their business after the store owners have closed. Some of the sex workers also use sacks to build tents with a student mattress where they have sex with their clients.

Majority of the prostitutes who are below 16 years, and come from areas such as Sodom and Gomorrah, railway line and other neighboring communities, charge Ghc4 for any round of sex.

The existence of the prostitutes have therefore paved way for robbers to operate on the shoulders of the street terrorizing innocent by-passers.
