A former Deputy Minister of Communication in the John Mahama administration, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has challenged Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to support with evidence, his claim that members of the previous administration were corrupt.

According to him, both President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia have thrown all manner of unsubstantiated allegations against the past government officials without proof.

His comments come on the heels of a hint dropped by Dr Bawumia that corrupt officials who served in the Mahama administration will soon face prosecution.

The Vice-President said: “Ghanaians will find out more soon as people are held legally accountable.”

He made the comment in his response to former President Mahama’s accusation that he (Bawumia) brought President Akufo-Addo embarrassment by awarding a $2.5million contract to local IT firm Vokacom to develop a “419” application called GhanaPostGPS to be used for the national digital addressing system, when that same app was available on Google for free.

In his response, Dr Mahamudu said unlike the Mahama administration which was neck-deep in corruption, the Akufo-Addo government is above board.

He said Ghanaians will soon get to know more about the corruption that took place under the Mahama administration.

But in a Facebook post reacting to these comments, Mr Kwakye Ofosu said: “Vice-President Bawumia will find out soon enough that there is a world of difference between ignorant and propaganda-laden shouts of corruption and proving same.

“Does it not embarrass him that after claiming that the previous government printed presidential diaries at a cost of US$10 million, his boss has been unable to prove it 10 month into his government? Would he be kind enough to share with the Ghanaian public how much it cost to print the 2017 diaries?

“Also would he be kind enough to share with the Ghanaian public the evidence of the inflation of the cost of the Ridge Hospital as alleged by his boss?

“And if I may inquire, why has his Minister of Health so ignominiously embossed his name on a plaque at that hospital if it was the product of corruption?”
