Techiman (B/A) Sept. 8 GNA - Madam Ellen Gyamea of the Environmental Health Division at Techiman in Brong-Ahafo has appealed to the government to provide the necessary working tools to enable the division to carry out their activities effectively. Madam Gyamea expressed regret in an interview with Ghana News Agency at Techiman about the lack of some materials had made some members of the public to think the division had no work to do.
"At least the provision of means of transport, in the form of motorbikes, would be greatly appreciated as that would enable the personnel to reach far areas to promote environmental sanitation among the people," she said.
Madam Gyamea said the provision of a prescribed uniform for the division's officers would boost their morale and intensify efforts to ensure that the people lived in clean and decent environment. She explained that regular visits to the communities would keep the people on track to avoid getting infected with diseases. Madam Gyamea appealed to the government to provide the division with its demands to enable them to work to the expectation of the people.
Places of convenience and urinals should be constructed to help check indiscriminate refuse disposal in communities, Madam Gyamea added.
