Some social media users are not sparing the Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, over comments he made on Angel FM in Kumasi on October 16, 2024.

During his appearance on the station, Maxwell Kofi Jumah stated that people who lose their minds in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are those who run to the opposition, the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Conversely, he claimed that those who have sense are the ones who come to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He also alleged that Alan Kyerematen, a former NPP member now contesting the 2024 elections as an independent candidate, is being sponsored by the NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

“I have said it here before, and I know people won’t be happy about it, but I will say it again.

“If you are in the NPP and lose your mind, you move to the NDC. If you are in the NDC and gain sense, you come to the NPP,” he said.

He continued, “Alan should go for therapy. If he regains his senses, he will come back.”

“Ghanaians have wised up. John Mahama is behind Alan, and I am saying this with authority. He is backing Alan. The plan is for Alan to reduce votes in the Ashanti Region. He started in Ejisu, and now he has brought in that small boy, Chedder, to contest. All of them are being financed by the NDC.”

After the interview was shared on social media, netizens on Facebook, in particular, couldn’t hold back their anger and criticized the Managing Director for his remarks.

“Kofi Ghana has never spoken sense in his entire life, so this is no news,” a user said.

“And who told you, you have sense? Alan is far better than you, Mr. Man,” another added.

“We need to take Mental health seriously in this country how can a host sit down and allow this man to say all these things.
“Yandam will not work this time and will going to the bush.”

“Papa payin mu, nya platform a, 3baka nyansa sem no, mbell3sem nkotsee na 3ka.” (Translation: "Elderly man, when given a platform, should speak words of wisdom, not foolishness.")

“Is everything okay with this man? All this for useless politics?”
