Days ago, YEN.com.gh reported the story of the teacher who taught his pupils Microsoft Word using a blackboard.

The teacher, Richard Appiah Akoto, had always taken time to draw the parts of the computer on the blackboard during ICT class so that his pupils would understand the subject.

His selfless efforts attracted media publicity, and consequently, he was acknowledged by Microsoft itself.

According to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on CNN, more donors are sending desktop and laptop computers to Richard and the school.

The CNN report states: “People and organizations are donating desktop computers and laptops to his school.

And, as part of Microsoft's promise to offer him free training, Akoto was flown to Singapore to attend the annual Microsoft Educators Exchange.”

Latest to join the donation trail is NIIT Ghana, which has donated five desktop computers to the school.

NIIT also gave a laptop and books to the teacher, Richard Akoto Appiah.

According to the NIIT Accra Center Manager, Ashish Kumar, he was inspired by the reports of the teacher which went viral on Facebook and CNN.

Therefore, he was prompted to make that donation. His gesture is sure to make the teacher and pupils of Betenase M/A Junior High School in the Central Region smile.
