Put National Interest above group interest

Kaleo (U/W), July 8, GNA - The Kaleo Naa, Naa Banamini Sandu, Paramount Chief of the Kaleo Traditional Area in the Upper West Region, has appealed to Ghanaians especially politicians, party activists and supporters to strive to place the nation's interest above their political ambitions and other political interests.

Naa Banamini was speaking when Professor John Evans Atta Mills, Flag Bearer of National Democratic Congress (NDC) called on him at his palace.

He said it was only when Politician placed the national interest above group interest the country's young democracy being admired by many countries would be nurtured into maturity like the established democracies of the United States and Western Europe.

Professor Mills urged NDC supporters to resolute in misery and poverty, pointing out that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) slogan of "Positive Change" in the lives of Ghanaians had only brought positive change for the privileged few.

He, therefore, urged supporters of the NDC to help the Party to come back to power in Election 2004.

The NDC flag bearer, who is on a five-day tour of the Upper West Region, addressed rallies at Nadowli, Hamile, Charikpong, Brifo-Baa, Babile, Tizaa and Nandom.
