Pwalugu Police Training School to start specialized training

Mr John Kudalor, Director General of the Police Service in charge of operations, said the Pwalugu Police Training School in Bolgatanga would soon begin specialised training.

He said this would enable the Service to meet the challenging trends in policing in the country, which is the best practice across the world.

This was contained in a release signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Agbanyo of the Upper East Regional Public Affairs of the Service and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Bolgatanga after the Director General had visited the training school.

He said the training would include riot control, Public Order Management and Operational Traffic Management and Defensive driving.

He added that the Armed Police Unit and the Armored Car Squadron of the Service would also be trained at the school.

The Director General said the school had been chosen because the terrain and nature of the area met the changing and challenging needs of the Service.

He added that the establishment of the specialized trainings required a reshaping and facelift of the existing facilities.

Mr Kudalor was accompanied by officers including Chief Superintendent Hamza Yakubu, Commander of the Reformed Police Force, and Mr Alex Adjevie, Second in Command (2i/c), Rapid Deployment Force.

Mr Kudalor advised the police recruits at the school to be disciplined adding that any untoward act on their part would not be countenanced.
