Quarshie appeals to Central to vote for Prof Mills

Winneba, Nov 14, GNA - Dr Ato Quarshie, the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said the people of the Central Region would regret if they failed to throw their support for Prof John Atta Mills to become the President next year. Dr Quarshie said almost every region had produced a President and it is now the turn of the Central Region. ''It will be unfortunate if the people of the region abuse the chance.''

Addressing an NDC rally organized by the Effutu constituency on Saturday, he told the people to vote massively for Prof Mills to become the President of Ghana.

Dr Quarshie appealed to the people to reject the Kufuor administration because it had failed them by not being able to honour the promises it gave them four years ago.

Speakers at the rally appealed to the people to compare the performance of the NDC with that of the NPP and said the high cost of living would be reduced under an NDC government.

Nii Ephraim, the constituency chairman of the party, said the high turn out at the rally was an indication that the party would win the election.
