Akyempem Twafo Hemaa of Dormaa Traditional Area, Nana Akosua Kumi Yeboaa, has shot down reports that she has a hand in a letter purportedly written to the Nkoranza North Member of Parliament (MP) warning him to stay off issues relating to the DKM Microfinance saga.

The Queen Mother, Nana Akosua Kumi Yeboaa, was shocked to hear Major Derek Oduro point accusing fingers at her over the alleged threatening letter.

“It marveled me when Major Derek Oduro mentioned my name in this issue…I am a woman and I can’t do that…I have also received threatening messages after we organised the press conference in Sunyani to clear the name of the First Lady,” she said in an interview.

According to her, one of the messages she received read: “You so-called queen mother, if you want to do politics then show your face…let everybody know that you’re doing politics but remember what happened to our man, Adam, very soon it will come to your door.”

The Dormaa Akyempem Twafo Hemaa further claimed that she has received about five different death threatening messages which she has reported to the police.
The queen mother advised the MP against dragging her name into the matter and urged him to report the case to the police for prompt police action.
“He should not link me or any of the Queen Mothers to this issue because we do not have anything to do with politics. We have no problem with him so he should point his accusations somewhere else. I will also advise him to report and assist the police to apprehend those who are after him,” Nana Akosua Yeboaa stated.

Major Oduro, who has been more vocal on the DKM Diamond Microfinance saga, last week said he received a letter threatening to kill him, if he did not distance himself from the matter.

However, Major Oduro said the threatening message will not scare him from fighting for his constituents who have had their monies locked with DKM; God is Love Fun Club, Jaster Motors and other financial institutions.
