Queenmother wants gov’t support for nursing school

The Queenmother of Manso Nkwanta Traditional Area, Nana Nyarko Abora II, has appealed to the government to assist the people of the area to complete a proposed Nursing Training College.

She said the community has completed the Administration Block and started the classroom block, but would need assistance for the completion of other infrastructure.

The Queenmother made the appeal when the Regional Minister, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, paid a courtesy call on Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah, Omanhene of Manso-Nkwanta Traditional Are, a as part of a working visit to the Amansie West District recently.

Nana Nyarko Abora noted that early completion of the nursing school would enable more youth to be trained in nursing.

She also called on the government to increase the producer price of cocoa and payment of bonus to farmers.

At Manso-Mim, Nana Opiah Mensah, Otumfuo’s Wirempehene, called on the government to terminate the contract awarded to a company working on the Mim-Junction to Manso-Agroyesum road, and re-awarded to another to facilitate easy movement of goods and services to the referral hospital in the district.
