RE: MCE of Weija-Gbawe and aide harass block factory owners and building material sellers

The attention of the Office of the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive has been drawn to some FAKE NEWS being propagated by faceless persons and groups with the sole aim of tarnishing the image and good character of the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive and thereby thwarting his well-intended efforts in his quest to see to the developmental agenda of the Municipality.

The Office of the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive responds to these frivolous allegations as follows:

1. As a result of the construction of a bridge over the Densu River at Azumah - New Weija through to the Weija Township, in order to provide an alternative route for motorists and other road users plying the Mallam-Kasoa Highway, the fence of the Weija Model School was demolished for this road construction exercise to be carried out.

2. This demolition exposes the school and its pupils to the Densu River when they play. Due to the unavailability of immediate funds by the Assembly to construct this demolished fence, the Assembly wrote letters and invited willing block manufacturing factories, as part of their corporate social responsibilities towards the Municipality, to support the Assembly with cement blocks to aid in fencing the school.

3. The Office of the Municipal Chief Executive would also like to emphasize that neither he, nor his aide, nor the Assembly has requested any roofing sheets or iron rods from any building materials sellers.

4. The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive has not for once, and does not in any way, intend to appropriate and exploit such benevolence from such block manufacturers for his personal gain or use, or that of his Personal Assistant.

5. The Office of the Municipal Chief Executive therefore debunks these frivolous allegations and kindly entreats all well-meaning residents of the Municipality and Ghana at large to disregard such disinformation, which is solely intended to thwart the good intentions of the Assembly in making the Weija Model School a conducive and safer place for the teachers and pupils.
