RE: Mills Is Being Inconsistent

In today’s edition of The New Crusading Guide newspaper, precisely on its back page, the paper sought to give legitimacy to a reported untruth attributed to NPP National Chairman, Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey.

The said story bannered thus; “On-Going Saga Of Ga Mantse’s Legitimacy, MILLS IS BEING INCONSISTENT … Jake Says” with the byline of Lucy Baagyei-Danso.

In the body of the story, it is reported that Jake Obetsebi Lamptey “recalled that he was not alone at the Ga Chief’s enstoolment but recollected vividly that he saw former President Rawlings and President Mills – who was then the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) - which government he (Mills) now heads.”

For the record, it is being stated emphatically and unequivocally that His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills, then NDC Presidential Candidate, was NOT present at the enstoolment of Dr. Joe Blankson as Ga Mantse.

Also, Lucy Baagyei-Danso writes; “Readers will recall that not so long ago, Prez. Mills relayed to Ghanaians his thoughts about the kingship of Nii Tackie Tawiah, known in private life as Mr. Joe Blankson, noting that he is on the stool illegitimately and so did not invite him (Ga Chief) to the State of the Nation’s Address read in Parliament recently by him (President).”

It is being stated once again, emphatically and unequivocally, that contrary to what Lucy Baagyei-Danso writes, at no point in time has His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills “relayed to Ghanaians his thoughts about the kingship of Nii Tackie Tawiah … noting that he is on the stool illegitimately and so did not invite him to the State of the Nation’s Address”.

The quotations are as the writing has it in the New Crusading Guide.
