Rastafarian council to sue AMA over Arts centre demolition

The Rastafarian Council of Ghana has threatened to take legal action against the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

The Council is angry over the razing of some structures at Mensah Guinea.

The AMA earlier this month demolished structures in the slum to curb the cholera outbreak.

But Vice President for the Rastafarian Council, Ras Aswad Nkrabeah told STARR NEWS, Alfred Vanderpuije is using the demolition exercise to cover up his inefficiency.

“We personally think that the Mayor is not actually tackling issues. What they did to those people is illegal, there is nowhere in the world that you can continue this human rights abuses.

“You bulldoze people and push them to nowhere and as a government you should first find somewhere for them to go before you actually move them.

“The Rastafarian council is going to take the issue because we have legal documents for renting properties over there."

Nkrabeah added the AMA boss grossly violated the rights of the residents.
