Rawlings Preaches To Demonstrators At Wahala

Former President Jerry Rawlings has urged Ghanaians to adhere to his doctrine of positive defiance for a more stable socio economic development of the country.

Speaking to a large gathering of people who participated in the Walhalla march near Parliament House on Tuesday, president Rawlings built his statement on the lyrics of the national anthem.

He piously explained each lyric of the anthem but as he got to an aspect that touches on defending honesty, he charged at his listeners and interpreted it as his call for positive defiance.

?Listen carefully ladies and gentlemen let is cherish fearless honesty another way of saying that is positive defiance.? He said.

While Jerry Rawlings sympathized with the condition of the people, he encouraged them to always put the Kufuor administration in check with the same level of demonstrations as they during his regime.

He cautioned that it is better to pressurize the Kufuor administration to do the right thing than call for a coup d?etat.

? If you want to punish Kufuor and his people nobody should make a coup against him but keep them there and make them do the right thing because doing the right thing is punishment enough, I say so because doing wrong and evil things comes naturally to Kufuor and his people, I know we are hungry but it would take a miracle for us to survive it ? He said

Other speakers including the PNC, Alhaji Rahman Ramadan, Reform Party?s David Percy, Egle party?s Danny Ofori from other political parties also made statements urging Ghanaians reject the new fuel price.
