Rawlings Roars Like a Lion -Maame Dokono

Space FM, Badu - Ace actress and TV Hostess, Grace Omaboe, has cautioned Ghanaians to be weary of former president Jerry Rawlings because he is a roaring lion seeking to devour innocent people.

'You must be watchful and prayerful because Rawlings is roaring like a lion seeking whom to devour', she said and led the people to bind the devil in Rawlings.

She said Mr. Rawlings and his NDC are hungry for power and have resorted to spreading lies about the economy and the ruling NPP just to win the sympathy of unsuspecting Ghanaians.

Madam Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, was addressing NPP supporters at Badu and Nsawkaw in the Tain District as part of the seven-day tour of the Brong-Ahafo region by the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo.

She urged the women to be discerning enough and reject the lies of the NDC which mismanaged the country and exhibited lack of sensitivity to the plight of Ghanaians.

Maame Dokono said the NPP is the only government in history to have done so much for women and children and therefore urged women to retain the party in the December elections.

She mentioned the free medical care for pregnant women, National Health Insurance Scheme, School Feeding Programme, Capitation Grant and the National Youth Employment Programme as some achievements by the NPP which be enough motivation for the people to retain the party.

The NPP presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, promised to complete all projects by the Kufuor administration and initiate new ones when given the mandate in the December election.

He thanked the people of Badu for their support since 1992 and urged them to vote massively again for the NPP to ensure continuity of all the development projects in the country. Nana Akufo Addo introduced the NPP parliamentary candidate for Tain, Hon. Joe Danquah and asked the people to vote for him.

The Brong-Ahafo regional minister, Mr. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, assured the chiefs and people of the area that construction of the Badu-Nsawkaw road would commence before December and asked for support for the NPP. He debunked the notion that the road is to be constructed because of the influence of Mr. Richard Obour, who broke away from the NPP after his disqualification from the party's primaries.

Mr. Baffour Awuah said government is funding the construction of the road and that no single individual can provide funds for the project.

Former presidential spokesman, Mr. Kwabena Agyapong, reminded the people that Mr. Rawlings is the only head of state in Ghana’s history to have destroyed several businesses and crippled the economy.

He therefore urged the electorate never to give power to the NDC since they have nothing good to offer Ghanaians.

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Organiser of the NPP, Mr. Kwaku Darko, appealed to party supporters to remain united, calm and focused in the face of any provocations from the NDC. He urged the supporters to step up their campaign strategies to ensure total victory in the December elections.
