The former first family in a statement said: “Sacrificing daily requirements and demands for food and drink and opening yourselves up to spiritual upliftment and fortitude is an exercise worthy of commendation.”
“Your prayer and religious fervour will go a long way to lift Ghana from the atmosphere of uncertainty that confronts our nation,” the statement said.

It is an honour once again for Nana and I to congratulate the entire Muslim community for the successful conclusion of the month-long fasting period culminating in the celebration of the Eid ul Fitr.
The period of supplication to Allah through fasting and prayer is an exercise that does not only benefit individual Muslims but all the people of our country and beyond.
Sacrificing daily requirements and demands for food and drink and opening yourselves up to spiritual upliftment and fortitude is an exercise worthy of commendation.
People from all walks of life will benefit from the spiritual blessings Allah will bestow on us and as you celebrate today we pray for strength of character, peace and unity for Muslims and all Ghanaians.
We join you in offering prayers for our dear country - the government and every citizen of the state. Let us apply the same strength of sacrifice we endured over the past month in confronting the challenges that we face as a country.
Your prayer and religious fervour will go along way to lift Ghana from the atmosphere of uncertainty that confronts our nation.
Nana and I wish you a wonderful and peaceful celebration.
Eid Mubarak; Eid Sa id!
