New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand, Kennedy Agyepong has question the integrity of former President Jerry John Rawlings in accusing members and executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being corrupt when he is the one who nurtured them.

The former President during his address at the 38th commemoration of June 4 uprising blamed the party’s abysmal performance at the polls last year to what he described as sickening greed, selfishness and corruption in the party that is contrary to the values upheld by the NDC and ideals of June 4.

“Nobody is saying don’t make money, make it good and clean; but not some of the ones I know; sickening, that kind of greed and selfishness, look at where it landed us. Or is it because this government is not behaving the way Kufuor did in his time, so we think we are okay? I know what’s going on. I know some of the things they are running into,” he said during the 38th-anniversary of June 4 revolution Sunday.

But contributing to the discussion on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” the Assin Central Constituency lawmaker indicated that these elements were part of the training the former president bequeathed to members of the party and therefore does not have any moral right to complain.

“JJ has no moral right to talk about corruption. In fact, he should stop pretending to be a saint because he is not at all. What is currently happening in the party is as a result of what he nurtured in the NDC. He now turns round to accuse others of being corrupt and greedy. How does he expect as to compare and contrast these”, he asked.

“Sometimes I get the shocked when I see these small boys in NDC describing him as a hero. The kind of training he gave the NDC and the seed he sowed is what we are reaping today” he said.
