Former President JJ Rawlings is yet to come to terms with the negative impact of his regular outbursts in the media, a former chairman of the NDC Dr. Kwabena Adjei has noted.
According to the former cabinet minister – under the PNDC regime – the former military leader has become less popular because of his utterances.
Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM Wednesday, Dr. Adjei said he admired Mr. Rawlings for his leadership style and his commitment towards the development of the country.
“I admired him for the roles he played as a leader, he was very strategic as a leader. And he was very committed to this nation. But later on, his outburst made him less popular than he ought to be.
“I’m somebody who does not shy from the media, I know how to use the media. If you over use the media…there are so many people outside there who are going to find fault with what you have said and then degrade you; that is his problem. He has to come to terms with the fact that we are in an information and knowledge era and so you don’t to people, you talk with people,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Former Member of Parliament has also blamed the defeat of former President John Mahama in the last December elections on the “inexperienced” hands he kept around him.
“His [Mahama] handlers misled him. They were inexperienced. I will say this anywhere without fear or favour. We are all to blame."
