Presidential Staffer, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, says the recruitment of party supporters into the country’s security services amount to job creation for the unemployed.
Nii Lantey Vanderpuye addressing party followers in Accra, boasted that he had supervised the enlisting of lots of party faithful into the various security service, insisting he did no wrong in that direction.
Speaking on an Accra based radio station, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodio Constituency, said the hue and cry over the move would not deter his outfit from seeking jobs for ardent followers of the party.
“Under some regime people are just bundled into buses and dumped on them. In two, three or one month, they are told to pass the people out. ...What we do is to recommend our people to buy Police forms and thereafter ask them to make us referees”, he added.
Continuing, he said personnel at the Police Recruitment Centre and the Army Recruitment Centre were not forced to undertake the recruitment saying, “rather, we only direct our people what to do. If they do it, they get recruited.”
