Koforidua, Aug. 19, GNA - The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Kwadwo Asiedu Affram, on Friday urged District Chief Executives in the region to be vigilant and cautious in the discharge of their duties to ensure that the good works of the government were not tarnished by their actions.
He told them at a meeting that since they were the representatives of the government, their actions more or less could influence the decision of the people in their choice of the President in the next elections.
He said it was imperative for the DCE's who were closer to the people to do extra work to win the confidence of the people. Mr Asiedu stressed the need for the DCE's to collaborate with the traditional authorities, Members of Parliaments and assembly members for the development of the region.
He reminded them of their responsibility to ensure that the civil servants who were supporting them in diverse ways conformed to the objectives of the times. The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Nana Adjei Boateng, on behalf of his colleagues affirmed their support for the minister. 19 Aug. 07
