New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand Ken Agyapong has said he is not bothered about the possible comeback of suspended national chairman and general secretary respectively of the party Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong.

The duo and a few others were suspended from the Danquah-Busia-Dombo family months ahead of the 2016 elections over allegation that they were undermining the fortunes of the party. Afoko and Agyepong have maintained their innocence, but have been on suspension over a year.

The suspended general secretary has been spotted at major NPP events since the party returned to power amidst calls by some groups within the party to reinstate him.

Speaking about the issue, Mr. Agyapong stated it is up to the structures within the ruling party to determine the fate of the suspended officers and he is ever ready to work with them.

“I don’t have a problem if the party is going to call them back, but the scenario is [they] staying out for the party to come to power and some of the allegations were that they were sabotaging the party. I don’t have a problem for their comeback,” the Assin Central MP told Nana Aba Anamoah on GHOne TV’s State of Affairs show.

He added: “I don’t have problems working with people. I’m not bragging but if a lot of the MPs will learn from me they’ll all stay in power and win their seat. With Kwabena and Afoko’s case I don’t have the power and I can’t speak for anybody. I don’t have a problem by calling them back.

“Nana has forgiven a lot of them who were following Kwabena and Afoko and has made some of them ministers. Personally, I don’t bear any grudge with them. I have spoken my mind and it’s over and I’m free.”
