An aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) secretary for Adansi Fomena constituency in the Ashanti region, Emmanuel Nana Yaw Domoh, has warned the party leadership at both the regional and national level not to accept the results of the recent constituency elections held at Fomena on Sunday, February 25, saying, possible court contempt awaits them if they accept the results.

He said a court injunction granted by a Presiding Judge of Kumasi High Court, Justice C.A. Wilson, was placed on the elections on the Friday, February 16, 2018, after he was rejected during vetting at the regional level when his nomination forms got missing, a situation he believed it is a deliberate attempt by the constituency executives to get him out of the elections.

Speaking in an interview on OTEC FM'S morning show NYANSAPO hosted by Nana Kwabena Ampratwum, Nana Yaw Domoh, the former University of Education, Winneba campus TESCON president said “I picked up my forms to contest for the constituency secretary position, filled and submitted to the party office but was nowhere to be found when I got to the regional level for vetting.”

“I know for sure that somebody deliberately took away my forms, because it’s very strange my only forms were nowhere to be found. So I headed to the Kumasi High court and was able to secure a court injunction which was placed on the elections to forbid them to organize the elections,” he stated.

“Since there was court injunction on the elections, the Electoral Commission (EC), a body who has the constitutional power to declare elections, wasn’t present that shows that the results are invalid and cannot be accepted,” he added.

Nana Yaw Domoh blamed the constituency chairman Mr. Akwasi Nti as the brain behind his missing forms and his rejection.

“Mr. Nti has issued several death threats on me ever since I made up my mind to contest for the constituency secretary position. He knows he cannot work with me because I won’t submit myself to his cruel and autocratic rule, he once pulled a gun on me, I reported the case to the Fomena police and the party regional executives but nothing good has been done about it,” he bemoaned.

“Mr. Akwasi Nti boasts that he is untouchable because of his good relations and links to the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako and the party's National 1st Vice Chairman, Mr. F.F Antoh, so he does anything he likes,” he told Kwabena Ampratwum.
