Reject non-performing politicians - PNC

Accra, April 14, GNA - Dr Edward Mahama, the presidential candidate of the People's National Convention (PNC), has appealed to the electorate to treat politicians as their employees and judge them on their performance. He said the electorate must decipher deceit from the truth, assess the response politicians gave to their requests and how they would turn their wants into achievable targets.

Dr Mahama, who was interacting with journalists in Accra on Sunday, said if the electorate could believe they were giving their votes to politicians to empower them to improve their lifestyle "we politicians would think twice if we have the power." He expressed regret that sometimes political leaders failed to attend important functions they were invited to and said last Friday when the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) invited the four presidential candidates to debate energy as it affected the country it was only he and Dr. Paa Kwesi Ndoum of Convention People's Party who honoured the invitation.

Dr Mahama said if he PNC came to power, he would collaborate with KNUST to improve the country's energy requirements. He said only 48 percent of Ghanaians enjoyed electricity and that he would push it up to 60 percent when he wins power.
