Accra, Feb.3, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Tuesday said the freedom of religion enshrined in the Constitution had made all Ghanaians to live happily together.
"We practice religious freedom that has provided us a happy country, people are allowed to practice and follow their beliefs in peace", he said.
President Kufuor made the observation when Dr Richard Roberts, President of the Oral Roberts University of the USA led a delegation attending the Ghana for Christ Crusade 2004, paid a courtesy call on him at the Castle, Osu.
The five-day crusade is being held at the Independence Square in Accra from February 1 to February 5.
President Kufuor said with most Ghanaians associated with Oral Roberts programmes on television and would be happy to receive them. Dr Roberts said the University intended to collaborate with some Christian institutions in Ghana to establish a University similar to theirs in the USA.
He said: " We look forward to do something like that and be of service to Ghana."
Dr Roberts, who arrived from Cote d'Ivoire, said a 40-man team made up of medical practitioners, nurses, para-medical staff accompanied him to provide some health care to the people.
He said the team visited the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital during the day to acquaint itself with any assistance they could offer.
Other organizers of the Crusade are, Dr Lawrence Tetteh, General Overseer of the World Miracle Outreach, UK /Ghana and Dr Michael Reid, Bishop of the Global Gospel Fellowship.
