Bishop George Adjeman, General Overseer of Winners Chapel Ghana, had urged religious heads to practice servant leadership to enrich the lives of individuals, build better organisations and help the country to grow physically and spiritually.

Speaking on the theme: “Raising servant leaders to confront the challenge of the 21st century,” at the 4th graduation ceremony of Immanuel Bible Institute and Seminary (IBIS) in Accra, he said religious leaders must blend their work with service.

Bishop Adjeman said the qualities of a servant leader include selflessness, valuing diverse opinions from followers and cultivating a culture of trust.

He said a service leader also facilitates his or her work through teaching and developing the potentials in others and helping and encouraging people with life issues.

Mr Rockson Dogbegah, Chairman and CEO of Bed Rock Ventures, said religious leaders should reach out to the needy in the society through arms giving and showing of love.

He added that religious leaders should not see their ministries as money making ventures but rather teach the word of God, as well as skills that would lead wealth creation.

Mr Dogbegah expressed the need for time management and planning to transform the country not only spiritually but also socially and economically.

Dr Fred Opoku Gyimah, Chancellor of IBIS, said up and coming religious leaders must have sharp minds in leadership.

He said IBIS aims at educating religious leaders to be Christian centered and lead with integrity.

He added that leaders must be role models for the community and inspire and impact positively in the mindset of their followers.

Dr Gyimah said attitude and gratitude determines the altitude in life.

He said leaders must be a “thermostat than a thermometer”, and should not passive about what is happening around them.

Rev Eric Ankrah, President, Student Representative Council of IBIS, said religious leaders must revitalise their Christian influence with the word of God to impact the society.
