Chief Executive Officer of Relish Health foods and philanthropist, Larry Addo has donated an amount of GH¢100,000 to support needy but bright students in Ghana.

He made the donation through the National Partnership for Children’s Trust (NPCT), a not-for-profit child-focused charity which has been in operation since 2001.

As the largest individual donor to the scholarship scheme, Mr. Addo has kept the wheels of NPCT turning since 2011 through his generous educational philanthropy. Last year he donated GH¢62,000.

Out of the 118 students who benefitted from this year’s scholarships, 88 were single-handedly sponsored by Mr. Addo. The students are all in public Junior High Schools, Senior High Schools and Universities in Ghana.

Speaking at the annual scholarship awards ceremony, held on 2nd October 2018 at the Republic Bank, Ridge-Accra, Larry Addo said the donations are from his personal funds and not from his business.

Recalling his early years as a needy child in school, he encouraged the students to apply themselves to hardwork to justify the awards and come back to give to others in need. He pledged to give even more next year.

Vice Chairperson of NPCT, Judith Sawyerr, in her address, commended all the donors, especially Mr. Addo, and asked well-meaning Ghanaians to emulate him.
