Remain Calm - NPP Tells Supporters

The New Patriotic Party, NPP, has called on its supporters to remain calm as the NDC exercise their democratic right of demonstration this morning.

In a release signed by the party's General Secretary, Dan Botwe the party denied that it is planning a counter demonstration this morning and warned the party supporters and the general public to be wary of any person or any group of persons who might want to use the name of the NPP to organize a counter demonstration or attempt to stop the NDC from going on demonstration.

The NPP has also drawn the attention of the security agencies to the fact that the NDC is capable of using agent provocateurs in NPP T-shirts and or colours to just cause trouble and blame it on the party.

The party is sounding this warning the release went on because the NDC during the recent by-elections in the country, did just that. According to the release some NDC supporters were seen wearing NPP T-shirts during the Amenfi West constituency by-election and only level-headedness and maturity on the side of the NPP officials and supporters prevented any serious trouble. It also asked that any NPP T-shirt wearing person causing trouble should be arrested and prosecuted.
