National Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has said the decision by President Akufo Addo to reassign Abubakar Saddique Boniface from the Ministry of Inner City and Zongo Development is a wrong move.

The President in his latest and first reshuffle of his government since he assumed power on January 7, 2017, removed Boniface Abubakar Saddique to the Office of the Vice President as Minister of State.

He has been replaced by Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, who used to be the Minister for Information.

Speaking to sit in host Akwasi Nsiah on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa FM Friday, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo who’s a former Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, stated that having known the competences of Boniface Abubakar Saddique he believes the latter would have been very efficient in the Zongo Ministry.

“The decision to remove Abubakar Saddique Boniface from the Ministry of Inner Cities and Zongo Development is a wrong move. I’ve personally known him and I thought that he would have been better served if he had maintained that Zongo Ministry, but that’s a decision made by the President. I don’t know what he’s going to do at the Office of the Vice President as a Minister of State. It is all waste of the tax payers money.”

Hon. Boniface Abubakar Saddique himself being a Zongo boy was very passionate and was working very hard to see the President’s vision of bridging the developmental gap between the Zongos and other sectors of the society.
