Former National Security Advisor Brigadier (rtd) Joseph Nunoo-Mensah says one of the reasons former President John Mahama lost was because he did not have the best of teams.

He explained that during the late President Atta Mills' era, he chose competent people to manage the economy; however, when former President John Mahama took over he distanced himself and removed them from office.

According to him, the late Prof John Mills assembled one of the best teams he had seen in the world.

Joseph Nunoo-Mensah who was speaking in an interview on Neat FM's 'Me Man Nti' programme, hosted by Adakabre Frimpong Manso, said: "Mills assembled one of the best teams in the world . . . competent men at the top of their professions, and removing them from office affected Mahama’s administration. If you have a good team, it makes your work very easy . . . I don't know how to lie but that was one of the reasons he lost the election".

He said there were other factors that led to the NDC losing the elections.
