Rename Nsien SHS after Dr. Nkrumah - Nsein Paramount Chief

Paramount Chief for Nsein, Awulae Agyafi Kwame II has appealed to the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to revert to rename the only Senior High School in the area, Nsein SHS, after the first President of the country, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Giving a historical account to the name given the school, Awulae Agyefi Kwame II revealed that the institution was named after Dr Kwame Nkrumah in 1960, [date of its establishment] due to the passionate role he played in advancing education for his hometown.

He indicated the political overthrow of Dr Nkrumah by military rule in the 1966 resulted into a whole scale renaming of institutions including theirs.

In an honest appeal to President revert the naming of the school, Awulae Agyefi Kwame confidently stated that the necessary documentation in defense of their request is ready and shall be submitted to the presidency for consideration.

Speaking at the 2018 celebration of the Kundum festival for the Nsein traditional area, Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, charge the Western Regional Minister Dr Kwaku Afriyie to facilitate the process of the name change.

“The Nsein Traditional Council need you [Regional Minister] to tell the President that we want to honour our forefathers. With immediate effect, the Nsein Secondary School is to be renamed after Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah” he charged.
