Render an unqualified apology or meet me in court - Damongo MP to NPP Communication Director

Member of Parliament for Damango, Adam Mutawakilu has issued a one-week ultimatum to the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party in Savannah Region, Mr Mohammed Issah to render an unqualified apology to him for publishing a false, malicious story about him.

He further demands a retraction of the publication using the same media platforms he employed earlier, else a legal action will be taken against him for defaming his hard-earned reputation in the eyes of the right-thinking members of the society.

In a press release issued and signed by Dr Dominic Akuriitinga Ayine, Lawyer for Mutawukilu, it stated that “Be warned that if you fail and or neglect to retract the defamatory statement, we institute legal action, you would be mulcted in court and other costs for damaging our client’s reputation”.

The statement added that, “Our client further instructs us that the said publication brings him into hatred, ridicule and contempt by reason of its moral discredit on his part and also it tends to make him as a representative of the good people of Damango and Ghana for that matter to be shunned and avoided without any moral discredit on his part”.

Background

On July 16, news broke out that there has been a stolen Toyota Hilux Pickup with registration number, WR 3516-19 in the newly created region, Savannah Region.

The missing vehicle is among the many presented to the Regional Coordinating Council by President Nana Akufo-Addo to assist staff with their administrative activities.

According to the previous news which Damango MP labels as false, it stated that Mutawakilu and his boys know the whereabouts and exact location of the stolen vehicle.

They also called on the Regional Police Command to invite the Mutawakilu and his boys to assist in the retrieval of the stolen vehicle.
