Dr. Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister, has appealed to all Ghanaians to be vigilant and be bold to expose any clandestine moves likely to plunge the nation into chaos.
He said it was important for them to collectively share in the responsibility of protecting the country’s peace and security before, during and after the December 7 polls.
He was addressing employees of the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) in Kumasi at the weekend. Dr. Agyemang-Mensah said people could not afford to become refuges in foreign countries and there was therefore the need for all to join the national peace campaign to make sure that the coming presidential and parliamentary elections passed off without incident.
He said the devastation caused by election violence in some African neighbouring countries should provide useful lessons to the people to avoid going down on that path.
Dr. Agyemang-Mensah said Ghana had made improvement in its socio-economic and infrastructure development and there was the need to guard these achievements.
