Resource NCCE to perform creditably - Plead chief

Worakese (Ash), Aug 19, GNA - Nana Agyei Kwame II, chief of Worakese in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district of Ashanti, has added his voice to the call on government to resource the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Information Services Department (ISD) to enable the two organisations to explain government policies properly to the people, especially the rural population.

Speaking at the inauguration of a new place of convenience for the town on Wednesday, he said it was when these two institutions were properly given the logistics and resourced that they could reach as many communities as possible with government policies and programmes. Nana Agyei Kwame also asked the government to expedite action on a mechanised borehole projects for schools in the town, which had been suspended to improve upon the health of the pupils.

Mr Bright Addai-Mununkum, the District Chief Executive, asked unit committees and traditional authorities to develop good maintenance culture to help prolong the life span of projects in their communities. He said the facility was constructed at the cost of 110 million cedis and that it was funded from the HIPC fund.

Mr Joseph Kwasi Assuming, Presiding Member of the assembly and the assemblyman for Worakese, commended the government for providing the town with the project, which he said had brought great relief to them. He asked the people to take very good care of the facility and also urged them to strengthen their communal spirit.
