Rev. Owusu-Bempah must be arrested to prove his allegation against the IGP – Peace Watch Ghana

Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah

Executive Director and Founder of Peace Watch Ghana, Madam Nyonkopa Daniels, has called for the immediate arrest of Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah following his allegation that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, wanted to kill him.

The peace advocate says these allegations are wild, and he must be arrested so he can provide evidence to support them.

Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries, levelled the allegations against the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Akuffo Dampare, during a recent church service.

The controversial man of God has accused IGP Dampare of plotting to inject him to death during his arrest three years ago.

The man of God told his congregants that police officers sent to arrest him had intended to administer a lethal injection.

He said he had to struggle with the officer who wanted to administer the lethal injection until the needle got damaged, and he screamed, which drew the attention of other prisoners.

Reacting to this, Madam Daniels declared that Rev. Owusu Bempah ought to be arrested and be made to submit his evidence since the allegations were serious and undermined the integrity of the service and the IGP.

"A whole Inspector General of Police; if Ghana were a serious country, would someone sit somewhere and make such wild allegations that the IGP wanted to kill him?

"How can someone make the allegations that the IGP has a vehicle that he used in transporting people to go and kill them? What kind of stupidity, senselessness, and unfortunate matter is this?

"I blame the security agencies, especially when it comes to the Ghana Police Service. Some of the officers are gossips and liars and do not discharge their duties ethically."

Madam Daniels, appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, stated that the man of God should be arrested and prosecuted, and he will produce evidence.

"You are making outrageous and unsubstantiated claims against the IGP. You are putting dust in your congregation's eyes and spreading misinformation about the IGP.

"That is why I propose that he be arrested and convicted. Nobody is above the law, and if you break the law, you will not be spared; thus, you cannot blame the IGP.

"You cannot enable individuals to unlawfully storm someone's residence and expect the cops to remain indifferent.

"So, if you have been arrested, you cannot spread false information. George Akuffo will not go to great lengths to arrange someone's murder. We are fond of damaging the identities of men and women who have credibility and integrity."
