Behind every successful man, they say, is a woman, and there is no doubt about this saying and so it was all joy and romance in the air last Sunday when the Apostle General of the Royalhouse Chapel International, Rev. Sam Korankye-Ankrah, proposed again to his wife, Mrs. Rita Korankye-Ankrah to allow him to re-engage her after twenty five years of marriage.
Rev. Korankye-Ankrah dramatized and re-enacted his first encounter with his wife at last Sunday’s church service, which coincided with the couple’s 25th anniversary of marriage. The drama began like this: “Rita, please will you marry me? ”
Kneeling before his dear wife as if that was how the 25 years marital journey began, and doing so in the presence of the whole congregation, Rev. Korankye-Ankrah, in a joyous mood, embraced his wife, Rita, after she has shouted: “Yes I will. ”
Initially, as Rev. Korankye-Ankrah knelt down, Mama Rita had said, she needed seven days to fast and pray after which she would be in a better position to give a response, but obviously looking desperate as some men do during their initial encounters with their wives, the Apostle-General had no option than to cry out to the congregation to intervene on his behalf to convince Mama Rita to accept his proposal instantly.
“Please intervene on my behalf for her to accept my proposal,” he cried out.
The congregation at this point spontaneously shouted: “please Mama Rita, kindly accept the proposal from our father. ”
This development convinced the wife, Mama Rita, as she is affectionately called, to gladly accept Rev. Korankye-Ankrah’s proposal ignoring her decision to be given seven days to consult God.
The response from Mama Rita momentarily threw the congregation into a state of joy and ecstasy with some clapping while others kept singing to praise God.
Rev. Sam Korankye-Ankrah got up the floor and hugged her for so long that, it set the whole church auditorium agog and threw the congregation into a state of jubilation.
This means that, once you make a vow at the altar, it is forever” he told the congregation and urged them to learn from his example.
Rev. and Mrs. Korankye have been blessed with four children.
