Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, is reported to have led a raid on the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, with 20 armed men on March 19, 2025.
According to a news report by AsaaseOnline.com, the raid took place on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Dr. Addison’s Roman Ridge residence in Accra.
Reports indicate that Dr. Addison was at home when the heavily armed men, some wearing balaclavas and wielding AK-47 semi-automatic rifles, arrived to conduct a search.
The report further stated that the team repeatedly disabled all CCTV cameras in the house.
They then demanded that Dr. Addison lead them to the ‘vaults’ in his house. Our source says the former Governor, in shock, calmly told them that he had no vaults or any such cache of cash at home," AsaaseOnline.com reported
Meanwhile, the Minority Leader of Parliament Alexander Afenyo-Markin is reported to have visited the former BoG governor in his residence after the raid.
