The third accused in the ongoing Ambulance case, Richard Jakpa, has initiated legal processes to compel notable figures, including two former Health Ministers, Alban Bagbin and Alex Segbefia, as well as Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, to testify in the trial, citinewsroom.com. reports.

After concluding his testimony on Tuesday, July 9, Jakpa was instructed by the court to call his witnesses. He informed the court that he plans to summon eight witnesses, some of whom require subpoenas.

Among those to be subpoenaed are the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, and former Health Minister, Alex Segbefia. However, the judge noted that the subpoena orders did not include a request for documents to be presented by the witnesses.

On Thursday, Jakpa's lawyers disclosed that in addition to Bagbin and Segbefia, Chief of Defence Staff Lt. General Thomas Oppong-Peprah and Military Secretary Air Commodore Adu Gyamfi are also to be subpoenaed.

The case has been adjourned to July 18.
