Eight motorbike riding young men on Tuesday evening, at about 8.30pm, trailed two persons on a motorbike from Tudu in Accra Central to the Overhead bridge near Circle and robbed them of huge sums of money which they were carrying in two bags.

According to one of the victims, ‘we were returning home to Newtown when eight men on motorbikes attacked us with various firearms. My friend who was clutching a bag containing money was dispossessed of it. I managed to run away but some of them chased me until I fell down. One of them pointed a weapon at me as he pulled the bag containing money from me. They did not shoot us but fled as soon as they dispossessed us of the money.’

The robbery victims deal in foreign exchange at Tudu and were returning home when they were attacked – as the narration explained.

The case has been reported to the Adabraka Police Station.

In recent times, motorbikes are being used by young men to rob with women especially, losing their handbags from the hoodlums.
