Rotaract club inaugurates a chapter at UMaT

Rotaract Club has inaugurated its chapter at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) with a call on all members to assist in promoting ethical standards and dignity among workers.

Rotaract is a Rotary sponsored service club for the youth between 18- 30 years and either community or tertiary school based.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony at Tarkwa on Wednesday, Mr Ignatius Kudu, past President of Rotaract Club in Sekondi- Takoradi, said the body intends to provide opportunities for young people to tackle the needs and concerns in their communities.

He said, the main purpose for establishing the club in most tertiary institutions,is to offer opportunity for young men and women to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Mr Kudu said, when the youth are well equipped, they could assist in addressing the physical and social needs of their communities and also promote better relationships between all people worldwide through the framework of friendship and service.

He donated GH¢1,000 to facilitate the growth of the club.

Mr Augustine Acheampong, President of Rotaract club in UMaT, promised to work closely with his executives to contribute towards the socio-economic growth of the Tarkwa Nsueam District Assembly, and neighboring communities. **
