Royal Commonwealth Society honors Winifred Selby

The President of the EPF Educational Empowerment Initiative Ms Winifred Kyei Selby has been selected as an Associate fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society.

The Council of Royal Commonwealth Society conferred the Associate Fellowship on Ms Winifred Kyei Selby who is also the co-founder of the Ghana Bamboo Bikes Initiative for her demonstrated and sustained commitment to promoting the values of the Commonwealth and working to improve the lives of Commonwealth citizens.

Just 20 years old, Winifred has had many accomplishments she was recently honored by the World of Children in the United States for her charitable initiative which provides brand new shoes, educational supplies and menstrual pads for needy school girls from deprived communities in Ghana benefiting over 10,000.

Ms Winifred Kyei Selby was selected as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in 2014 having earlier on selected by the African Leadership Academy as Anzisha Prize Fellow and Set Africa Fellow by the Makere University/International Youth Foundation.

In 2014, Airtel Ghana honored her with the Airtel Touching Lives Award and was recently featured in Forbes as one of the social entrepreneurs in Africa to watch in 2015.

Winifred has travelled extensively worldwide and has shared platform with notable international figures such as the Executive Director of the World Trade Organization, Deputy Ruler of Dubai who presented the Dubai International Award to her in February 2015 and the UN Secretary General Ban Kin Moon who she lobbied to ride on her bamboo bike and generated international publicity worldwide.

She was invited personally by the President of the United States Barack Obama to be part of the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Nairobi,Kenya.
