The Royal Fun Club, an association of natives of Bodomase, in the Sekyere Kumawu District of Ashanti, has donated 156 mathematical sets and other education materials to this year’s candidates of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at Bodomase.
The beneficiary candidates are from the Methodist, Presbyterian, D/A School, Eva International and the Penfield International, all basic schools in the community.
Mr. Kofi Ntiakoh Koduah, the President of the club said this formed part of its annual contributions to the welfare and development of the Bodomase community and environs.
Additionally, he said the club has set up an educational fund to support brilliant but needy students in the secondary and tertiary education levels.
Mr Koduah said last year, the club made a donation to the health center at Bodomase and other nearby communities, and called on other community members and stakeholders to also support the development of the area to make life better for the people.
Mr. Kennedy Kwaku Antwi, the Patron of the group said the donation was the Association’s contribution to the basic educational needs of the candidates to ensure their success in the impending examination, saying that, “The gesture is to ignite in the young people the zeal to aspire for greater academic achievements.”
Mr. Jude Owusu, the Head Teacher of the Bodomase R/C Junior High School on behalf of the candidates and their respective schools, commended the club for the support.
He said the gift had come at the right time to complement the efforts of the teachers and parents in ensuring quality tuition and education for the children.
