Awua-Dumase (B/A) Jan. 30, GNA - Baduman Rural Bank with headquarters at Badu in Tain district of Brong Ahafo at the weekend presented items worth four million cedis to the Awua-Dumase Traditional Council towards the completion of the chief's new palace complex. The items included 50 plastic chairs, five ceiling fans and assorted drinks.
Presenting the items, Mr. Daniel Adomako, Chairman of the bank's interim management committee said the gesture was in appreciation of the community's "remarkable" deposits with the bank. He expressed gratitude to the community and urged the bank's loan defaulters, particularly the maize market operators, to pay back loans granted them so others too could benefit.
The IMC chairman urged the people to take advantage of the bank's products, which include savings and current accounts, fixed deposits, overdraft facility and funeral loans.
Nana Kwame Appiah Korang V1, Omanhene of the area thanked the bank for the gesture but asked the management to ensure that applicants received loans on time to be able to pay back on schedule. He expressed concern that applications were unduly delayed and appealed that they were processed promptly to enable applicants to reap full benefits.
The Omanhene suggested that the bank could open outlets so that the loans could be given in the form of materials like cutlasses, roofing sheets and others to ensure that applicants did not misapply the monies for other purposes. Jan 30 06
