SDA District Pastor inducted

Akim Osino, Feb. 18, GNA - Pastor Harrison Addai, 35, was on Sunday inducted into office as head of the newly created Akim Osino SDA Church Pastoral District at a colourful church service at Akim Osino in the Fanteakwa District.

The new Pastoral District, which was carved out of the East Akim District is to oversee seven communities comprising Osino, Akim Juaso, Akim Saamang, Akim Hemang, Akim Dwenase, Akim Abompe and Nsutam.

Performing the induction service, the Executive Secretary of the East Ghana Conference of the SDA, Pastor Twumasi Ankrah underscored the importance of pastoral work and urged Pastor Addai to nurse the newly created district to bring it at the level of other districts. He asked him to show tolerance, dedication, humility and good inter-personal relations among church members.

In his response, Pastor Addai accepted the challenges imposed on him by his installation and promised to create a good image of the priesthood vocation and as a teacher through love for his people and with unity of purpose as his watchword.

He asked the church members to be aware of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and other sexually transmitted diseases and avoid contracting it through leading good moral lives.

Mr Joseph Ameyaw, District Elder who presented a cell phone to Pastor Addai, urged him to mould the characters of the members so that they would "tread on good grounds" throughout their lives.
