SDA youth unite to improve growth in faith

The Taifa Zone of the Accra North-East District of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, has held its annual youth week of prayers to enhance the spiritual growth of members.

The theme for the programme, aimed at encouraging the youth to give of their best as followers of Christ and to serve their nation as responsible stakeholders was, “Reclaim! God Wants You Back”.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mr Edward K. Boahen, the Youth Leader of the Zone, said the programme was organized for members of all the six churches in the Zone.

They are Kwabenya, Dome, Taifa-North, Taifa, Pillar ‘2’ and the Channel of Hope.

Mr Boahen said the programme was climaxed with a church service on Saturday, which was heralded by activities such as marching and drilling, flag hoisting, bible recitals, and memory gem.

Pastor Theodore Gyamfi, District Pastor of the Church, said the programme was to encourage the youth to be truthful, firm, and to build themselves up in Christ.

He said the church had realized that today’s youth were facing many challenges in their social lives so they needed to be rekindled both socially and psychologically to reclaim themselves into the Lord’s fold.

Pastor Gyamfi said when young people were guided to develop themselves successfully on the principles of Christ, their positive social status and attitudes would appeal to their peers to for their transformation as well.

“These days, we frequently hear about corruption all around us, but when the young ones are trained with the truth, the fear of God and standing upright for Christ, they would make the nation great and righteous,” he said.
