President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that the efforts of his government and the measures implemented in the last two years are beginning to bear fruits.
Delivering his 3rd State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Thursday, February 21, the President stated that business confidence is growing due to the fiscal discipline of his government.
“We have imposed fiscal discipline and business confidence is growing. We will maintain the discipline and develop our country…Our efforts are bearing fruits and the world is taken notice of the improvement in our economic fundamentals.
“We intend to introduce measures that will ensure that we have the firmest foundations for the economic takeoff that has eluded us for so long,” the President said.
The President also revealed that the fight against child labour has chalked some moderate success stating that “Ghana has moved up from the trafficking watch list.”
Mr. Akufo-Addo also stated that some 275 ambulances will be delivered in June 2019 while Drone technology has also been introduced into the health system for the delivery of medical products.
Touching on the massive housing deficit, the president stated that the “Saglemi Housing project started by the NDC is high on our list of priorities this year. The 5, 000 units it offers will boost our housing situation in the country.”
