Accra, June 29, GNA - This year's Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE) would start in 535 Senior Secondary Schools nation wide on July 4 and end on August 3 2005. A total number of 112,557 candidates made up of 63,639 boys and 48,918 girls will write the examination.
A statement signed by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Public Affairs Officer of West African Examination Council (WAEC) said the Council had put all the necessary measures in place to ensure the successful conduct of the examinations. The Council appealed to the public, especially candidates to be wary of persons, who purported to have in their possessions question papers of any kind. It said the Council was very alert and would not hesitate to deal with any candidate, school, centre, supervisor or invigilator, who infringed upon any of its rules or tried to disrupt the conduct of the examination. The statement advised candidates to desist from engaging in malpractices during the examination, which could lead to the cancellation of their results. The Council wished all students the best of luck.
