Two peri-urban areas in the Madina Constituency of the Greater Accra Region have benefited from the largess of the aspiring Member of Parliament for the area on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party.
Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface, the former Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing in the ex –president John Agyekum Kufour’s administration has sunk two mechanized bore holes at the cost of 24, 000 Ghana Cedis for the chiefs and people of Otinibi-Ayigbe Town and Adoteiman all in the Madina Constituency.
The former Minster was accompanied to the inauguration ceremony by the Constituency chairman, Michael Mc-kenzie among other constituency executives of the NPP.
Speaking before turning the valve for the flow of potable water, Alhaji Boniface said the construction of the mechanized borehole is in fulfillment of a promise, he made to the electorate during time of the NPP’s primary in the area when his attention was drawn to the acute water shortages in the area.
He said the two bore holes are his widow’s mite to the people of the area and was hopeful the people will put it to good use for the benefit of all.
He cautioned them to desist from being partisanship in the use of the facilities, ‘ i have seen some before because the facility was provided by the NPP’s aspirant, the supporters of the NPP will not allow supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress to patronize it’.
According to him, this should not be the case as the facility was made to the community and all members of the community must benefit from it.
He reminded them that he constructed the bore holes free of charge and he is not taking anything from the community.
He was quick to call on the community leaders to form a management to spearhead the maintenance of the facility.
He tasked management committee members to take a token from the people who will be patronizing the facility to enable them pay for the monthly electricity bills that will arise out of toperating the facility.
He took the opportunity to remind the people who are gathered to reciprocate the gesture, he has done them by voting massively for him and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the December 7, polls.
He said times are hard under the NDC led by President John Dramani Mahama, now young people are 5,000 Ghana Cedis and over just to access university education hitherto it was only 600 Ghana Cedis.
‘This is the time to change the NDC for the NPP to come and change the hardships Ghanaians are enduring under the heartless NDC government’.
He assured them that, the next NPP administration under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with Dr Bawumia as his Vice President will make Ghana run again.
As it is now Ghana is crawling and Ghanaians this time around to show the NDC the exit come December 7.
In thanking the NPP’s aspirant and team for the honour them, Patricia Kooblie, a member of the management team at Adoteiman said the area was well noted for scarcity of water particularly during December and January respectively and the construction of the borehole by the aspiring MP has come timely.
