Saint Paul's school old students honour three teachers

Kumasi, Aug. 05, GNA - The Saint Paul's Basic School Old Boys and Girls Association has honoured three teachers of the school at Amakom in Kumasi for their dedication and commitment to duty, which had enhanced teaching and learning.

Mrs Agnes Ophelia Osei-Wusu Aduening and Madam Mary Odum received a 24-inch colour television set each for the kindergarten and primary level, while Mr Kofi Oppong Boadi had a tabletop refrigerator for the junior secondary school category, which cost 10.4 million cedis. Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, an old girl of the school, in an address read for her at the ceremony, urged communities to initiate their own projects before calling for assistance from the assembly.

She pledged a 24-inch television set for the school to enhance its distance-learning programme.

Mr Joseph Agyekum, Chairman of the association, said they have connected pipe-borne water and provided furniture for the school. He appealed to the parents and government to help them complete the school's fence wall to ward off unscrupulous people, who had turned the school into a drug-peddling centre and playing ground. The recipients thanked the association for the honour done them and pledged to work harder to lift the academic standard of the school.
