Salaga NPP expresses regret for the manhandling of National Executives

Accra, Sept. 1, GNA - The Salaga Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday apologised to the National Executives and supporters of the Party for exhibiting acts of indiscipline at the National Headquarters in Accra.

"The act of manhandling our National Executives and other supporters was an unfortunate action, which erupted out of emotion and zealous exhibition of youthful immaturity," Mr Draman Abdul Wahab Baba, Secretary, stated in a statement to National Chairman of the Party. "We sincerely apologise to President John Agyekum Kufuor, Leader of the Great Elephant Family, the National and Regional Executives and the entire membership of the NPP for the unfortunate act that dented the image of the Party."

The statement was copied to the President, Vice President, Council of Elders of the Party, National Security Adviser, Inspector-General of Police, NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Northern Regional Minister, Bureau of National Investigations at Salaga and the District Chief Executives for Salaga.

Some members of the Salaga Constituency recently invaded the National Headquarters to protest against what they described as an attempt to impose a parliamentary candidate on the Constituency. During the course of presenting their petition, some of the demonstrators manhandled some of the National Leaders.
